Systems Design and Analysis
C-E Solutions and C-E Services has a well-proven capability in Systems Design and Analysis and has direct experience in applying this capability in the context of safety critical systems, for example with Air Traffic Control systems. We have professional Systems Engineers who hold Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Systems Engineer and Design Engineer status for IT&T systems (Communications-Electronics).
We are well-versed in the theory and practice of Systems Engineering in accordance with EIA -632 and AS/NZS 15288:2003 ensuring that we consider all facets of a system’s lifecycle - from eliciting system requirements from the customer, delivering a tailored product, providing through-life support, through to a systems’ eventual decommissioning and disposal.
At the front-end of the lifecycle, we are trained in the use of DOORS, an application adopted as the Defence standard for requirements specification and management. Through active management of requirements, not only can we be confident that the customer’s needs are captured in a concise, clear way but also that all components of the end system can be linked to their source requirements. We provide traceability of design and completeness of system documentation to the level required by the customer.
C-E Solutions and C-E Services’ management of each project undertaken by us is guided and assured by the PRINCE2 project management methodology, appropriately tailored to match the customers’ needs for project oversight and our estimation of project complexity.
We have also performed Analysis services. An example of this was the thermal analysis for the Bathurst Island radome in the Northern Territory, which resulted in correct sizing of dehumidifying HVAC equipment. The analysis resulted in a much smaller unit being chosen for Defence, which will result in significant fuel savings over the life of the capability, whilst still meeting requirements.
