Horus Demonstrated to AWACS and AEW&C Community
C-E Solutions was recently invited to present its innovative Airspace Battle Management Tactical Data Mining tool, Horus, at the last convened AWACS/AEW&C Acquisition Working Group, attended by Australian, Korean, Turkey, UK, and USA representatives.
General Manager Boris Novak and Technical Director Mike McMahon provided a presentation followed by a demonstration of C-E Solutions' Horus system.
Horus is a system that analyses air traffic radar and other sensor data to 'learn' the patterns of aircraft behaviour across very large volumes of airspace – in the case of the demonstration, an area of more than 5,000 nautical miles square. Once 'trained' the system can automatically identify flights that exhibit unusual or suspicious behaviour (for example, the sort of unusual behaviour that presaged the “9/11” terrorist strikes) and provide an alert to air traffic, or air defence, operators. In 'training' the system, emergent patterns can be analysed and flagged for future time-sensitive targeting, allowing operations to immediately identify the next occurence of specific behavioural profiles. More information, see our Horus product flyer.
For detail on the presentation see the presentation supporting slides.
The demonstration covered:
- Pattern identification
- Pattern management
- Live track to pattern matching
- Indicators and warnings of deviations that occur
- Track Prediction
- Faded Track Correlation
- 3D representation
Various levels of interest were shown at the demonstration via a Question and Answer session following the demonstration.
