Boris Novak finishes up as RPDE Stakeholder Liaison Manager
After nearly 20 months secondment to Defence's Rapid Prototyping, Development and Evaluation (RPDE) Program, Boris Novak returns to C-E Solutions in the newly formed role of General Manager.
After nearly 20 months secondment to Defence's Rapid Prototyping, Development and Evaluation (RPDE) Program as the Stakeholder Liaison Manager, Boris Novak has returned to C-E Solutions to take up the newly formed role of General Manager.
A virtual autonomous organisation, RPDE draws talent from industry to analyse Defence’s in-fill capability shortfalls (focussing on Network Centric Operations) and develops and recommends solutions to traverse such deficiencies within a collaborative framework. During Boris’ secondment, he was instrumental to successfully growing the program from having 83 participants to 141 participants (reduced to 137 after some industry consolidation). In particular, Boris targeted and increased the number of universities involved from just one to seven. Highlights of his secondment include:
- developing the program’s Communications Plan;
- establishing a framework called the Regional Regimen that seeks to apply the RPDE model in a wider context, enhancing engagement opportunities for all stakeholders across the nation, Defence and Industry;
- performing the role of Master of Ceremonies for the first Virtual Capability Development and Operations Analysis Symposium, an event that RPDE was lead organiser for and involved AUSCANUKUS participating nations, and was conducted over the Coalition Federated Battle Laboratory Network;
- providing a keynote presentation at the IEEE Digital Eco Systems Technologies Conference in 2007.
Boris’ responsibilities during his time as the Stakeholder Liaison Manager are provided here. After 20 months of commuting to Canberra every week (or elsewhere in Australia) from his home in Port Stephens, our new General Manager is glad for the change. The SLM role at RPDE has since been succeeded by Ian McKenzie, who is being provided by QinetiQ Australia.
